The Giraffe Hills Mara Camp is located at the perimeter  of  the famous Masai Mara National Reserve, a section of the preserved savannah wilderness in the southern western area of Kenya  and along the Tanzanian border.

The reserve is full of all sorts of animals from lions, cheetahs, tigers, hyenas, giraffes , monkeys, baboons, zebras, antelopes, gazelles, rhinos  to water animals  such as crocodiles, hippos  to birds.

Once a year, the area has a wildebeest migration from Serengeti, in Tanzanian, into Mara, which is regarded as one of earth’s natural spectacular movement.

The terrain of the place is made of hills and open grassy plains, and is cut by the Mara and Talek rivers.

The area is inhabited by small masai villages, the indigenous people of the area.

The place is synonymous with the Great Rift Valley.

The months of December to March and July to October have very pleasant weather and are by far the best months to visit the Masai Mara National Reserve.
